Anyone knows a place on Internet to watch F1?

If someone wouldn't mind sending me a PM or an invite code I would appreciate it. I was a F1RW member back in the day but my account doesn't work on the new site.

Yes, if you don't watch live but download higher quality later. Watching iPlayer qualifying from Germany right now, not paying for a proxy.

How high quality is the non-live versions on iPlayer compared to the Live ones, in Youtube-terms?

Not sure how to express it in youtube-terms, here's what I was watching just now: http://rapidshare.com/files/3715790...-_Qualifying_b00rx7gf_default.partial.mp4.flv

Don't have a live sample ready, maybe someone else can provide that. I believe it is comparable in bit rate to the on-demand "standard" version, potentially with slightly lower quality due to different encoding style. The standard version looks like this: http://rapidshare.com/files/3715865...-_Qualifying_b00rx7gf_default.partial.mp4.flv

In terms of bit rate, 1500 vs 500kbps.

Now, the thread is right and I need help.

A commercial TV over here decided after a long time to replace the commentator, because they didn't want to pay him the traveling to races. They got a new guy and he is...horribly boring and dumb. Hence people stopped watching our TV and switched to a Croatian national TV, which is awesome. Most of us that like F1 have been watching them for a long time now.

But from this race onwards, our TV decided to order a blackout of the neighbour TV and also an Austrian channel during F1 coverage. So we are forced to watch their shit. No studio, no guests, no press conference and endless commercials.

Now I need something 100% realiable, free and ofc live...
HELP!

Been using a couple of free proxies with foxy proxy. No problems watching the Malaysian GP qualifying with BBC's iPlayer.

But iPlayer isn't live..right?

iPlayer does have live channels with worse quality. The advantage of using the non-live version on top of the quality is that you do not need to pipe the video itself through a proxy, you only need to send a ticket request through a UK proxy. That way you get all the speed without putting load onto some free proxy that will break down every time there is a popular show live.

Does anyone have a spare RU invite by any chance? Would really like to join the community. I know I don't have a huge post count; I tend to read more than post, but I have been a member for years.

I am interested in hearing about this other 'fishy' site also... Am a tad confused about if its referring to the RU or another site? :?

man, I wish RU didnt go private, been looking all over for 80's f1, and docus...but my acct with RU is gone, and mods dont reply to inquiries....I hate to jump on the bandwagon of begging/ppanhandling for an invite...

cable..can seed all day long, can keep up good ratios....feel free to flame, running out of options >.<

oh haha...wow didnt realize my post count was so low....yeah go ahead and flame on!(and when did final gear remove cars in avatar?)

Can it hold the bandwidth for a stream though? Most cheapo ones and free ones can't... not good streams anyways.

While were on the subject can anyone please send me an invitation to "that site which we never say it's name"?

Thought it'd be nice to give some insight after this, after now having tried both.

http://www.ukproxyserver.co.uk is most certainly faster, but since http://www.tellyport.co.uk is so damn cheap and works both with the BBC Live service and iPlayer yet with decent speed, I'm happy enough. The price is so low, so value for money is excellent. Easy to setup aswell.

Actually we get F1 live here, it's a crap broadcast because of the crap commentating but I'll never be able to not watch the races live. I only asked for that cause I wanna download certain previous races and now that I got a 10Mbits i can actually keep my ratio up pretty easily. They closed my account for lack of activity about a year ago :/

I quite like having the ability to watch it live. Waiting for several hours to download the race torrent is really annoying. No more need to waste HDD space! :)

The iPlayer usually has it available quite quickly after the race, and you can start watching immediately while the download is going on. No waiting for the last part to finish

^- yep, but as get_iplayer is discontinued, you'll need to obtain it from somewhere first

There are a few forks, some as storage, some trying to keep up development. Some googling also reveals download opportunities
