Well it looks like the rumoured return of Daniel Craig for another Bond movie has been confirmed by Showtime's CEO, who has announced that the mini-series Purity that Craig is set to star in has had to be delayed due Daniel having 007 commitments to meet first. The next Bond film has apparently been given the working title Shatterhand and is supposed to be based on one of the Bond continuation novels Never Dream of Dying. Reports also suggest that Craig has signed up for two films and that the last will be a remake of On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Daniel Craig's "I'd rather slit my wrists" comment was made at the end of a grueling Spectre shoot during which he and director Sam Mendes did not get along. He had since walked-back that statement somewhat.

MWF's favourite songstress Adele is being courted to return for the opening theme.

How many bags of money will they have to give Craig to go back?

I would've personally liked a new Bond, but that's just me.

Craig has really grown on me. Didn't like him very much in Casino Royale and Quantum didn't help with its overall terribleness. But Between Skyfall and Spectre, he really came into his own as Bond and I kind of like it. I'm glad to see him come back to the role, but I would've done it for much cheaper (you hear that Eon Productions? Call me).

Russians can play the bad guy, not Bond. ;)

Ehhhh, I could pass off Bond. I don't have a Russian accent. Granted, I also don't have a British one. Maybe I can be the Bond that was brainwashed to kill M by the Soviets at the start of The Man with the Golden Gun (the novel version).

But fine. As long as I get a cool car as the baddie, I'll be ok with it. None of that green XKR crap from Die Another Day. At least give me a C-X75, though I'd also settle for a AMC Matador (as long as it can fly). And I'm sure the baddie gets paid less than Bond (you see Eon? We're already negotiating down my salary. Call me).

I don't like any James Bond with Daniel Craig except for Casino Royale, even then I was not much impressed. But it has nothing to do with Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes was the problem for me. Showing James Bond like a fragile, disturb and depressive soul is not my bag that's why Moore and Connery are my favorites. I have seen Craig doing comedy and I would like to see him more like it in his Bond role, but that is up to the director I guess.

Rumours are whispering that Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) could replace Mendez, I guess we should know fast enough.

While I don't mind the style of Mended movies, I didn't like Bond failing and the bad guy winning at the end of Skyfall and I hated the stupid Blofeld-and-Bond-are-foster-brothers thing from Spectre.

So the Bond movies are running out of ideas now? Will have Adele for the song and remake an old movie? Whats next? Remake all other movies just to cash in?

In Spectre it was obvious that no one gives a fuck. So now Daniel wont give even more fucks!

So I guess the next 3 movies with him will be meh.

Still going to see them, cause Daniel is the best Bond!

Preach. Even Brosnan gets points from me.

I never really warmed up to Craig as Bond. Maybe it's because it seems Eon panicked and went to look for a Bourne sort of guy to play Bond rather that someone suave and smooth. That as much was clear on his reaction to the "Shaken or Stirred" line back in Casino Royale.

As for showing him vulnerable, fragile and disturbed. Yup, agree there too. This is supposed to be his 9-5 job. He literally has a license to kill. Go to $insertCountryThatIsOkayToHaveAsABadGuyToday, shoot some baddies, use gadgets to shoot some more baddies, have casual sex with chick of the flick, she dies on mysterious ways, kill more baddies. Rinse and repeat.

You obviously haven't read the books, or at least not properly. Bond as written is basically an alcoholic psycho- and sociopath whose raison d'etre is to act as a lethal weapon on behalf of the British Government. Casino Royale and his experience with Vesper Lynd was basically an origin story to explain why he acts the way he does towards women. If anything Bond as played by DC is underplayed compared to the man Fleming created.

Yeah. Never read the books. And for the description I don't think I would like it either. I'm way too used to MooreBond to give them a fair shot methinks. and if Craig is the soft version that kinda goes double :p

Well, last I checked he refused 90 million Euros (roughly $106M) earlier this year, but the rumors are that this still the deal he now took .. either way: ALL OF THE FUCKING MONEY!

On the matter of the actor and the role, I am rather indifferent. I found the last few Bonds mostly boring and/or just bad, but I am not sure the actor chosen had much to do with that.
