Moab FG Offroad Jamboree May 4-8, 2020

It sounds like people are fine playing things a little loose, so I'm not going to do a whole lot of trail planning. I'm pretty familiar with most the trails the Xterra can manage in the area, but we can certainly look at adding some milder touring trails for those who don't want the "Oh god, oh god, we're all going to die" or "Is that scraping/smashing sound normal?" experience.

I'm also trying to track down some graphic files to have a FG flag made up, Moab gets pretty busy and it's one of the few places our vehicles won't stand out. I thought a FG flag might make it easier to spot our rally point.

FG flag idea is awesome!

@IceBone or @thomas may have the drawings?

Pshh, that's the best part!! Always want more death!

.... Funniest thing I heard about Hell's Revenge - Hell going up, Revenge coming down.

Also, speaking of FG pirates, just a heads up:
* Passengers, bring some good hiking shoes. A lot of times, during the slower sections/obstacles, it's fun to run around and take photos etc.
* Drivers, prepare for boarding from those of us who are too lazy to climb the obstacle on all fours. :D

As of now lodgings in Moab are closed due to COVID-19. The small local hospital does not have an ICU department or any pulmonary specialists so they are encouraging people to stay home. The parks are still open, however there is no staff on-hand, all payments and fees are on-your-honor.

As of now, we are still planning on attending. We don't know how things will shake out over the next several months; I hope that everyone will still be able to attend. Kiki or I will keep everyone posted regarding what's happening on the ground here; you can always ping either of us if you have questions.

Well, my trip to Big Bend just got cancelled as the county shut everything down and one of my contractors who was camping in Moab said they got booted out and everything is getting shut down there too

Not a surprise, given how things are going, but looking more and like Moab Meet 2020 is going to be in 2021 :(

Tiff an I have been talking about it recently. We haven't pulled the plug because we aren't against the cancellation deadline yet - but it's not looking like anyone will be open for business by then.

I was so close to booking a relatively short notice flight about 6 weeks ago.. because I saw some really good deals and I have vacation to use up.. I am so glad I didn't right now. Would have been a total disaster..

... and I think it's a pretty safe bet that Moab in May 2020 is not happening. All 5 national parks are still closed indefinitely, lodging/campgrounds closed etc. :(

Raincheck?

Yeah, totally! I'm up for a Fall 2020 or Spring 2021 - Blind and I will probably be down in Moab sometime in the Fall since we missed the spring season this year.
